BODYWORKERS IN TOUCH
community, connection, and self-care for touch professionals

July 18-20, 2008
Easton Mountain Retreat, upstate New York

Bodyworkers hold a special place in today’s world. In a high-tech culture, we provide a human touch. In a healthcare system that prefers to treat by prescription, we provide hands-on healing. We pride ourselves on selfless service and we’re privileged to love what we do. We’re also notoriously lax about self-care and often starved for community. This weekend is about rest and renewal for people who spend their working hours doing massage, physical therapy, private yoga/Pilates instruction, sex work, sacred intimacy, and other forms of bodywork. Share skills, stories, and sessions with other professionals. Have formal and informal conversations about boundaries, burnout, skillful use of erotic energy, and other topics that pertain to the field. Note: this is not a training for beginners or aspiring bodyworkers but a retreat for people with an established professional practice.

I will be co-facilitating this retreat with Bob Bruillard. Bob is a certified and licensed massage therapist and bodywork instructor. In 1996, he founded Bodyworkers of Boston, a collective of private holistic practitioners. He is a level 2 Thai-Yoga practitioner and instructor having studied extensively at Kripalu and in Thailand. He is also an assistant with Body Electric's intensive programs and Authentic Eros workshops. He facilitates men's groups in Boston and at Easton Mountain, and he skillfully works in the modality of Sacred-Intimate healing. He began breathwork in 2000, and since 2005, he has been involved with the Power of Breath Institute assisting in breath workshops locally and internationally.
